Furry Hams is a collection of amateur radio operators and enthusiasts assembled with a common goal: Advancing technology and furry fellowship in the Amateur Radio field.
What is Furry? In short, the furry fandom is a subculture of individuals who like to imagine what the world would be like if it were inhabited by animals with human personalities and characteristics. “Furries” come from all walks of life, and include engineers, doctors, lawyers, and people from all walks of life, bonded by the commonality of enjoying the idea that animals could walk, talk, think, and act like humans.
What is Amateur Radio? According to the FCC: The amateur and amateur-satellite services are for qualified persons of any age who are interested in radio technique solely with a personal aim and without pecuniary interest. These services present an opportunity for self-training, intercommunication, and technical investigations. Twenty-nine small frequency bands throughout the spectrum are allocated to this service internationally. Some 1,300 digital, analog, pulse, and spread-spectrum emission types may be transmitted.
